Students who have completed the Pre-University Certificate (Peeshdaneshgahe) with a minimum overall GPA of 16/20 and students who have successfully completed the National Entrance Exam (Kunkur) will be considered for entry onto our undergraduate programmes. Holders of the Diplom-Metevaseth are not normally eligible for direct entry onto our undergraduate courses without completion of a suitable foundation ai engineering degree programme, such as one of our own foundation pathways. Applicants for programmes with subject specific requirements will need to offer these as normal (please note that combined or integrated science will not normally be acceptable where a stated science is required i.e. Biology or Chemistry). Programmes requiring Mathematics as a specified subject will require both the Compulsory and either M1 or M2.

This module will cover the fundamental mathematics underlying AI including probability and statistics, calculus, algebra and optimisation.
Digital Systems and Signal Processing
Being focal points of the Industry 4.0 vision, you’ll also explore the design and development of robotics science and systems and how they can meet diverse human needs. You’ll examine different algorithmic approaches and consider algorithm complexity and efficiency through practical implementation. You’ll also focus on the algorithms which allow computers to ‘learn’ by exploring topics such as neural networks and genetic algorithms.

As a reminder you don’t need to have completed all of these tests to apply through UCAS. Degree structure
If you are a student of any other college and you wish to be considered for second year entry, you must submit your full transcript and a copy of the syllabus you have followed so that we can assess your suitability. For candidates offering the South Australian Matriculation qualification, a TER of between 90 to 98 is required. Applicants with appropriate grades in Standard XII English (English Core/English Elective/Functional English in CBSE) do not require additional SELT qualifications.

What happens after you apply?
Higher Secondary Certificate students will be required to take an approved Foundation Programme before they can be considered for entry to the first year of our Bachelor degree programmes (see Birmingham Foundation Pathways). One third of your time is spent on a project which can be chosen from a wide selection offered by staff members, or developed from your own idea. This usually involves writing a large piece of software and gives you the freedom to extend and demonstrate your skills in a manner of your choosing. In the other two-thirds of your time, you can choose freely from over 20 optional modules, including some specialist AI modules such as Intelligent Robotics, Neural Computation and Advanced Natural Language Processing. You can choose to specialise in Computer Science or AI, or take a mixture of modules from both themes. Artificial Intelligence is one of the current hot topics in Computer Science, and society more broadly.

Candidates are normally required to hold five GCSE subjects at grade C/4 or above, including Mathematics and English Language. In such roles, an AI professional may manage and analyse data of different types using a range of technologies, or extract knowledge of different forms from the data. In addition, they may develop advanced control and coordination mechanisms for robots, or understand the ethical impacts of AI, mitigating risks and ethical harms arising from the deployment of AI.
Advanced concepts of Web services will be studied and placed in the perspective of these principles (5, 6). You take either COMP6000 Project or COMP6200 Research Project plus 90 credits from a list of optional modules. • Concepts, principles, practice and philosophy of an Agile approach to software development, contrasting with more structured approaches. Modules
We may accept your English language grade from the French Baccalauréat de l’Enseignement du Second Degré if you achieved 14 (bien) or above. We may accept your English language grade from the Finnish Ylioppilastutkinto/Studentexamen if you achieved 5 (magna cum laude approbatur) in English. We may accept your English language grade from the Danish Studentereksamen if you achieved 10 in English. Nunavut – General High School Diploma with an overall average of 75% (ABB), 80% (AAB) and 85% (AAA) across five subjects at grade 12. We may accept your English language grade from the Austrian Matura/Reifeprüfung if you achieved 2/5 (gut) in English (both written and oral examinations).
Your dissertation project could be supervised by one of our research staff or an external supervisor from industry. You’ll gain a solid grounding in computer science and the integral elements of a computer system, before specialising in AI and the ways it can be applied.
Does AI require math?
The three main branches of mathematics that constitute a thriving career in AI are Linear algebra, calculus, and Probability. Linear Algebra is the field of applied mathematics which is something AI experts can't live without. You will never become a good AI specialist without mastering this field.
